Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.  Check back often as we’ve got many kitties to brag about :).

Today we hear from Ella, who adopted Lou> (now Thelonius) in June!

(Editor’s Note: Lou was a special little deaf kitten who was taken in by Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue before being transferred to Feline Rescue for adoption through the foster system.)

It’s been a while now since I adopted Lou (now Thelonius, Theo, or T – based on who you ask), so I thought I’d send you a quick update! Theo is doing very well in his new home. He’s growing into quite a handsome kitty – and fast! I swear every time I leave a room for 2 minutes he’s bigger by the time I return.

He’s still a bit dopey – we took him to see the vet for a checkup, and she suggested that in addition to his deafness, he may have very mild cerebellar hypoplasia, which causes him to run into things sometimes and fall off of furniture. But after kitty-proofing our home a little bit, his bad balance is nothing more than an endearing little quirk that makes us love him even more!

My housing situation fell through unexpectedly when my roommate decided to spend the year traveling, so he was left without a kitty playmate his own age for a little while.  …  So I ended up adopting another kitty from the Humane Society to keep him company. After a few days, the two became best buds, and now they are rarely apart.

All in all, Thelonius is doing GREAT in his new home. We love him very much and are SO appreciative to Feline Rescue for helping us adopt him.
