Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.

Today we hear from Nicolle and Grant, who adopted Akasaka (now Auggie) a few months ago!

Auggie

We adopted Auggie on the last day of August and he became an instant part of the family. He is doing great and loves his new home.

Initially a shy and timid little guy when we first met him in the shelter, he came out of his shell shortly after settling into his new home. The first few days he spent under the bed and only came out at night to snuggle and play. He made an instant friend with our other cat and the two have been close since that day. He still has his timid moments but he doesn’t hide much anymore, except from the vacuum cleaner and the vet.

He now spends his days looking out the window, playing with all of his toys and his favorite buddy, Gus. His favorite toy is a feather toy that he will play with endlessly (he will dig it out and drag it across the floor himself if we don’t play with him on his schedule). We have also discovered that he is quite a chatterbox and an enthusiastic jumper. Nothing is safe if he really wants it.

He cuddles with us every night and has become quite the bed hog. Auggie is doing great in his new home and we love him very much! We are very thankful to Feline Rescue for helping us adopt him.
