Remus & Alastor (formerly Los & Rev)

Not even 5 minutes into my visit, Remy (Los) was fast asleep on my lap (he’s asleep on me as I write this) and I knew we were meant to find each other.
His brother was much more timid and it took some time, but Moody has blossomed into the sweetest, funniest boy in the world.
Their favorite pastimes include snuggles (with me, each other, or anyone who comes over), looking out the window and playing with their new baby sister! They are the happiest kiddos in the world.
I’m forever thankful to the wonderful people at Feline Rescue for helping me adopt my sweet boys.

Artemis & Apollo (formerly Guinevere & Lancelot)

Artemis (calico) and Apollo (tuxedo) joined me right as I was moving into my first home. Both kittens were rescued from a cat colony.
Artemis quickly became the queen of the household while Apollo became a snuggle monster.
Additionally, they immediately got along with the abandoned kitten that was left by my house.
Arty and Apollo have brought light into my life and have been my buddies all through being a teacher during this weird time.
Thank you Feline Rescue for bringing these two into my life ❤️

Peaches

When I came to the shelter and saw her, I knew we were meant to be family.  Peaches is very talkative, playful, snuggly, and so sweet.  She loves to be around people. She purrs all the time (unless she’s sleeping). Her favorite place to sleep is on a high up shelf in my closet. Peaches is the best little kitty and I’m so happy to have her in my family!

Madi, THEN

Madi (formerly Pearl)

Here are some photos of our little munchkin Madi!
Madi has turned out to be a goofy, energetic cuddle monster and we couldn’t love her more.
Her hobbies include crawling into paper bags, sun bathing, trying to play with her big sister (who is not a fan), and sleeping on our feet at night.
Thanks Feline Rescue for giving us our forever baby!

Mayly, NOW

Mayly (formerly Fruitie)

I adopted Mayly in 2019. She was around 10 months old and while I was thinking I was going to find myself a black cat to take home that day, she had other ideas.
I’ve had quite a few kitties in my life, but she’s the most well behaved one ever.
She trills a lot and always likes to be around wherever I am, although she’s not a “lap cat” Mayly is healthy and happy and that makes me happy!
I love my “Dirty Nosed Girl”. Thank you for all you do.

Rain

I adopted Rain in November of 2019. She has been a great companion, and a funny girl who loves to shred toilet paper and paper towels if I don’t leave them out of her reach.

Over the last year, she has kept me sane through this pandemic. In another month, we will be making a huge transition as we plan to move to Arizona.

Andromeda, THEN

Andromeda (formerly Valka)

Andromeda (Drommie) is our tiny but mighty calico-in-charge-of-everything. She’s definitely the boss and she’s not shy about letting you know!

She loves to play, cuddle with her big brothers, mooch treats, and bring her kills (toys) to us.

Andromeda, NOW

Nanuk (formerly Nanook)

Nanuk turned 3 and has been learning to love his new dog brother. We adopted him in March 2019 after he was rescued from the polar vortex!

Delroy (formerly Nemo)

I was waiting anxiously and enthusiastically in the adoption office at Feline Rescue after being interviewed by three volunteers to meet my new kitten that had been chosen for me. Two minutes go by and tiny Nemo in enters the room, held by the adoption coordinator. She placed Nemo on my lap. I loved him instantly. The adoption coordinators stressed that Nemo was very much food oriented and as it turned out he is. It was agreed by all four of us that Nemo was to go home with me that night. I changed his name to Delroy and the rest is history. He’s grown into a really big fluffy orange cat with huge expressive eyes and a cute temperament. I love him so much. Thanks Feline Rescue for ALL the good work you do and blessing me with Delroy! (Photo on the right includes Delroy with his brother Scooter)

Nyx and Thalia (formerly Shishito Pepper and Cecelia)

[Nyx is the black cat and Thalia is the tabby.]

We adopted Nyx a few months after the passing of our beloved Callie.  When we first met her at the shelter, she was labelled as “very shy and fearful”, and was barely visible as she hid at the back of her pen. As we met with her in a private room, it was clear that she was terrified, but also really, really wanted to be friends. After only a couple of days being at our home, her sweet, affectionate personality blossomed. She loves lobster flavored treats, rolling around on puzzles, and sitting on laps as long as there’s a fleece blanket involved. Nyx has a big personality, and always gets what she wants; she’s the boss of our house.

Several months after adopting Nyx, we started thinking about adopting a friend for her. It seemed like she would benefit from having another cat to chase around the house. When we saw a listing for Thalia at Feline Rescue, we had to go see her right away. Thalia had been adopted and returned to Feline Rescue because she wanted to be with people all the time, so needed to go to a home with another young female cat. It seemed like the perfect match.

It took several weeks for the cats to get used to each other. Thalia really, really wanted to be friends with Nyx, but also didn’t understand personal space boundaries, so there were some scraps. It took some time, treats, and toys for them to get used to each other, but now they’re both much calmer, more confident, and more playful than they were apart. They’re just like siblings- Nyx is the bossy older one, and Thalia is the playful younger one. They chase each other around the house, and love watching birds together. Sometimes Nyx even allows Thalia to sleep close to her. These cats have brought so much joy and chaos to our home- we couldn’t love them more. Thank you Feline Rescue for your work, and for helping these two cats find a home with us!

Julia (formerly Marykn)

We adopted three cats from you and we love them so much! Julia has grown from an underweight baby girl to a chubby round orange beauty. She has the most beautiful eyes, located in a tiny face. She always knows where the most comfortable place is and naps all the time. She is very quiet, calm, and resilient to any changes in the world around her. She is also a gourmet and only food can wake her up. She loves playing with Patrick, the other older and bigger male cat, and can win a fight with her wildest skills.

Mocha (formerly Zelda)

I adopted Mocha (aka Zelda) in 2019 and she has been a wonderful addition to the family! When we first adopted Mocha she was very timid. However, shortly after adopting her she opened up and became the queen of the house. She loves to be around the family and her dog brother. Mocha always wants to cuddle right up to her brother and try to groom him, even though he does not always understand her cat behavior. We can always find her snoozing on the heated floors, just waiting for someone to come and rub her belly and give her attention. Recently we adopted another kitten from the feline rescue, so Mocha is adjusting to the new addition! We are hoping that they will become buddies once they get to know each other a little better.  It feels like she has always been a part of the family! Thank you Feline Rescue for giving us an opportunity to adopt such a wonderful kitty! Mocha says thank you for letting her find her furever home!

Tony Bennett (formerly Bennett)

Tony Bennett has been a great companion through a few moves since he was adopted in 2019. He loves cuddles, meeting new people, and hanging out on balcony and cat tree.
He is one social cat and, yes, likes listening to big band and jazz.

Romeo (formerly Chavez)

I had the great privilege and joy of adopting my boy Romeo (known as Chavez while at Feline Rescue) from you all. I’ve had him since December 9, 2019, and he is an absolute angel. At first he was skittish and I could hardly get him to eat, but now I can’t ever feed him enough to satisfy him! He loves to hang out on my lap, sit in boxes, cuddle, eat tiny pieces of corn chips, and fall asleep in very strange positions.

Maximus (formerly Wallace)

Maximus has been a wonderful cat.  Before I had adopted him he was actually returned by a family and was in the back room.  I am happy to have Max in my life.  He seems to be happy with his life as well.
