Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.

Today we hear from Lindsay, who recently adopted Riley! (Editor’s note: Riley spent much of her time at Feline Rescue as the “office cat,” away from the other cats since she didn’t seem to be a big fan of them. She is now the only cat in the house and, as you will read, appears to have totally charmed her new humans!)

Riley3

[Riley] loves string toys, and playing commando kitty up and down the hall in the middle of the night. She loves the water fountain we got her as the faucet was always one of her favorites. She has been in a few homes and a few shelters before here so I think she’s not convinced that this isn’t a temporary arrangement, but is quickly making this home hers.

… Riley’s safe spots are atop the chairs that are pushed in under the dining table and her scratching post, which is thankfully her first stop when she’s in freak-out mode. It’s funny that she’s so independent but is rarely in a different room then us. She’ll give you about two minutes to pet her before she tends to get bitey. She’ll be purring and happy, just simply not interested in interacting any more, which is fine.

We look forward to seeing her acclimate and to years of kitty cuddles. She seems to smile in her sleep which is my favorite. … We love her!
