Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.
Today we hear from Jimmy (now Max), who was adopted with his brother Johnny (now Sam) by Lisa, more than eight months ago!
Hey There! This is Max (the cat formerly known as Jimmy), writing in for myself and my “brother” Sam (Johnny). Wanted you to get an update of how we are doing!
Well, it’s been 8 months, and we are SLOWLY getting used to living outside the busy, noisy shelter! We came to this quiet house in the woods VERY shy, and took quite a while to get the gist that our humans were friendly! Even now, while we enjoy being in the same room with our people, we don’t particularly enjoy being touched. Sometimes, when we are especially mellow, we’ll allow a brushing with a long-handled brush. But, if you get TOO close to us, we take off running (still)!
For two cats who supposedly were quiet, I am especially fond of walking around the house carrying my favorite mouse toy while howling at the top of my lungs. Sam likes to sit in the back window and “chirp” at the birds and bunnies! Between the two of us, we create quite a racket!
We are still the best of buddies, and are frequently found on the ottoman in the sunshine. We like to watch people walk by, and race up and down the stairs each morning until we are fed. Maybe, someday, we will allow our people to pet us!
That is all for now – there are squirrels and bunnies outside the window!
