Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.

Today we hear from Nancy and Jim, who adopted Sebastian Richard (now Harvey) in January!

 Harvey2

We adopted Harvey last winter. (His name was Sebastian Richard.) He has changed our lives in so many lovely ways. The first day he arrived, he did not come out from under the bed for a couple hours. I laid a trail of treats towards my hand. Eventually he slowly popped out from underneath. It did not take long for him to become acclimated. Harvey is a total chow hound. He is fed mindfully, but has a talent for sneaking food right before your eyes. Big stuff, like a huge slab of steak or a large bag of rice. He tries, though it’s a game he never wins. He is like a baby lion. Very strong.

Harvey3Harvey acts more like a dog sometimes. He comes when he is called, snuggles on laps and loves to be around people. Harv’ has a very quiet meow. He is not a loud bossy cat. He has favorite spots in various windows watching birds flutter, chipmunks that tease him and the children next door. We swear when the camera points in his direction, he strikes a pose like he’s a movie star cat. His great character makes us laugh. His love for our laps warms out hearts. Harvey is also VERY persnickety, insisting on an impeccable litter box at all times!

Mr. Harvey has been a great asset to our household and we love him so much! We are looking forward to having many happy years with Harvey and feel very grateful for his presence. Thank you for the wonderful care he received at the Feline Center. You guys do a great job!
