Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.
Today we hear from Jessica and Stacey, who adopted Nero (now Newt) and Nova in March 2016.
Our new “children” have both adjusted wonderfully. Nero, who we have renamed Newt, was so happy to receive the fetch toys. Ever since they came, we have played fetch every day! He loves to get the balls wet before we play with them. He is very vocal about wanting to play. He will chirp at me to play, and loves to play for hours, or at least until he needs to rest a bit on my lap before playing again. He loves cuddle and always finds a way to help me on the computer.
Nova has really blossomed in the past few weeks. It started slowly, with her chirping for food and excitedly running, with her tail held high. I heard her purr for the first time after we took a trip with them to my parent’s house for Easter. When we got back, she was so happy to be home, she started walking around me purring. A few days later, I was able to pet her for the first time.
She was slow to trust us, but now she can’t get enough petting. She follows me around to maximize ear scratches. Casey was able to pet her for the first time just last night. All of our patience and respecting her shyness has really paid off. I am still holding out hope she will want to be a lap kitty too 🙂
They have been an amazing addition to our family.
Thank you very much, Jessica and Stacey
