Feline Rescue thinks the best way for you to get a feel for the work of the organization and it’s many dedicated volunteers is by letting our adopters (and their cats!) tell their own success stories.

Today we hear from Kathryn, who adopted Cher (now Luna) in August!

Luna3

Luna is quite simply one of the best things to happen in our family this year. She loves to run around and climb things, including her humans and the top of the kitchen cabinets. But she comes running when we open the apartment door or the cabinet where her food stays (incidentally, where we keep our food). She hunts her catnip mouse and the laser pointer, and also wrestles with the other toys. She puts any toy she can in one of her water dishes to “drown” it and gets very surprised when the toys suddenly reappear outside of the bowl.

But while Luna is active, she’s also quite sweet. If either of us has a rough day, she’ll sit quietly and let us pet her. She seems to enjoy it as much as we do. Evening snuggles are quite common. She has taken to snuggling up with Gretchen on an electric blanket since the temperature dropped, though she also has her own cat bed with nice fuzzy walls to snuggle against as well. Luna does like to sit on top of me when I’m on my computer and will often purr on me.

Luna2

We took her to a local vet lately because of one of her eyes was swelling up for about 24 hours. Besides the eye (which has completely recovered and he actually found nothing wrong with that, either), he pronounced her perfectly healthy. She surprised the vet and vet tech by having a normal heart rate when they were examining her (which might have something to do with them stroking her quite a bit during the exam). She lives up to her nickname: Luna, Cat Extraordinaire.
